Quando eu era criança, minha avó costumava tricotar várias peças pra mim. Aliás, foi dela que herdei este lado tricoteira. Graças a ela, conheci e aprendi esta arte de "escrever" com agulhas e fios.

Dia desses me dei conta que eu jamais havia tricotado uma peça para ela. Como pode? Já tricotei para tanta gente, e, para aquela pessoa que me passou o dom, nunca.

Por este motivo, e não por nenhuma outra data especial, foi que resolvi tricotar este xale para ela.

When I was a child, my grandma used to knit me lots of stuff. Because her, I start knitting, and, if she never had the patience to teach me, maybe I would never learned. But fortunatelly, she had.

These days I was thinking that, I never gave her something knitted by me. How can that be? I've knitted for so many people, but never for her.

And, because it, and not for a especial day, I decided to knit this shawl for her.

Tricotar este xale foi realmente uma delícia, apesar de um contratempo não previsto.

Acreditem ou não, eu tricotei este xale inteiro com agulhas retas. Não, isso não estava nos meus planos! Mas a teimosia da pessoa aqui é bem maior, então, mesmo sendo quase impossível, fui até o fim nas agulhas retas. Porque?

Bem... eu decidi que ia fazer o xale com agulhas 5,5mm. Eu não tenho agulha circular de 5,5mm. Só retas mesmo. Como eu queria muito começar o xale, pensei assim: "Vou começar com as agulhas retas e depois compro a circular para continuar o trabalho".

Mas quem disse que eu consegui a droga da agulha??? hahahahahah

Resultado: Agulhas retas até o fim.

Knitting this shawl was very fun, but I had a little problem, that I didn't expected.

Believe you or not, I knit this shawl with straight needles. It was not on my plans, but...

I decided to knit the shawl with 5.5mm needles. I don't have 5.5mm circular needles, just straight. But I thought "I'm gonna start it with the straight ones and than I buy the circular to keep going". What happened is that I didn't find the 5.5mm circular needles to buy around here.

Consequent: I knitted with straight needles to the end.

Tricotei um total de 131 carreiras, rematei o trabalho com 265 pontos.

Fiz a blocagem comum e depois ainda passei o ferro à vapor, para esticar bem.

Após a blocagem, o xale ficou com 180cm de largura, por 87cm de comprimento.

É uma receita bem versátil, podendo ser tricotada com qualquer fio e qualquer agulha.

I've knitted a total of 131 rows, and I BO it with 265 stitches.

After blocking, the shawl measures 180cm (72") wide, and 87cm (34.8") lenght.
It's a very good pattern because you can knit it with any yarn and any needle size.

Minha amiga Julie encontrou esta lã (sim, lã, 100% lã!) na casa do Artesão de Porto Alegre.

É um super novelo, com mais de 300g de um fio bem grosso, feito e tingido artesanalmente.

My friend Julie found this wool (yes, wool, 100% wool) in Porto Alegre Craft's House.

It's a big skein, with more than 300g of a bulky yarn, and it's handmade.

Nunca imaginei encontrar esse tipo de fio, feito artesanalmente, para vender aqui em Porto Alegre. Tanto eu falo o quanto quero poder comprar fios 100% lã, e agora tem uma fonte bem pertinho de mim!

Eu ainda não fui até lá conferir as cores, mas segundo minha amiga, tem muita cor bonita. E tudo em meadas enormes como esta. Acredito que 1 meada dê para fazer um blusão liso. Duas meadas dariam para um blusão trabalhado e comprido, e sobraria muitaaaa lã.

O melhor de tudo? Essa meada saiu pela bagatela de R$18,90.

I never imagined finding these type of yarn here, handmaiden, near me. It's very difficult to find wool yarn in Brazil. Handspun? More difficult. I also thought it was impossible!

I didn't went there yet, but my friend said that they have many colors, but all bulky yarn.

I believe that 1 skein can be enough for a small sweater. 2 skeins for a bigger one, and probably you'd have a lot of yarn left.

The best part of it? These skein just costs me R$18,90 (about US$9,70).

Granny Squares Potholders

Resolvi fazer estes descansos de panela para dar de presente à uma amiga muito querida que estará fazendo um "quentão de casa nova" no próximo sábado (aproveitando o tema do mês, São João)

I decided to crochet these potholders for a friend that recently moved to a new home. She's going to give a party on her new apartment to celebrate the moment, and I thought it would be a good gift.

Usei o fio Pingouin Bella e agulha de crochet n°4.

Não tem receita, fiz ao meu modo mesmo, mas é bem fácil.

Para cada descanso de panela eu fiz 2 quadrados iguais, cada um de de 6 voltas, mudando as cores a cada 2 voltas.

Feito isso, uni os dois fazendo a bordinha em ponto baixo.

I used Pingouin Bella yarn and 4mm crochet hook .

There's not a pattern, I improvise it, but it's very easy.

For each potholder I crocheted two equal squares, each one with 6 rounds, and I changed collors every two rounds.

After it, I sew them together with a border.

Final de semana passado eu comecei, tardiamente, o meu projeto misterioso.

Fiquei um tempão pensando sobre qual fio usar, se seria necessário blocar ou não, se devia comprar um fio 100% lã invés de usar fio acrílico como indica na receita...

Depois de muito pensar, resolvi que, se tinham indicado o fio Cristal, que é 100% acrílico, era pq seria o melhor a ser usado para o projeto e pronto.

Comprei o fio Cristal num tom Rosa Pink (amo!) e comecei meu projeto.

Resultado: Não gostei.

.

Terminei a 1° parte e comecei a 2° só de teimosia mesmo.

A questão é que não estou gostando de como está ficando. O problema não é o fio, nem o projeto, mas sim os dois juntos... rsrsrs...

.

Por mais apertado que eu esteja fazendo o ponto, está ficando aberto demais. O fio é fininho demais para a agulha indicada. Geralmente isso não é problema para um Xale, já que, quanto mais lacear, melhor. Masssss.... esse fio é acrílico puro. O Xale vai lacear e eu não conseguirei blocar. Com 1 parte pronta, eu já notei que ele está se "retorcendo" e os desenhos não estão ficando no lugar... e ficariam só depois de uma blocagem, que no caso desse fio não vai acontecer... aiai... que tristeza!

Por este motivo, vou desmanchar tudo!

Vou comprar outro fio e começar tudo de novo!

Vai ser outro fio acrílico, mas um pouco mais grossinho. Eu vi o Projeto da Sandra (Tricô e mais Tricô), ela fez com o Kalú e está ficando bem direitinho. Acho que com um fio para Bebê vai dar mais certo...

Só espero conseguir uma cor parecida com esse pink...

I started this project last weekend, but I'm not liking the way it's turning out.

It's a shawl, and the pattern suggestion was a 100% acrylic yarn, so I thought it was not necessary to block it after.

.

I were using this yarn, but after some rows I realized that it was getting too lacey, the yarn was too thinner for this needles, what would require blockage, but because it's acrylic, I couldn't make it... that's sad!!!

.

Because it, I'm gonna buy another yarn for this project, and start ir again.

I just hope find a yarn color like this pink.

The picture is the one I didn't like.

Eu adoro trabalhos que tenham tranças, pois não são entediantes. E, por mais simples que a trança seja, ela sempre dá um toque a mais no trabalho.

O legal desta receita é que ela serve em qualquer pescoço, já que o lugar do botão é definido após o término do trabalho.

I really like patterns with cables, because they are not boring. And, from my point of view, even a simple cable makes the project more beautiful than if it has not one.
The coolest part of this pattern is that it can fit any neck, since you just define the button place when all the knitting is done.

A escolha do botão também é uma parte muito importante. Ao menos é o que eu penso.

Tenho milhares de botões, mas nenhum dentre os meus me agradou para colocar nesse esquenta-pescoço.

Então minha mãe me cedeu um dos botões que ela tinha, bem grande e forrado de um tecido branco com flores em lilás. Ficou perfeito!

So my mother gives me one of hers, really big and with little lilac flowers. That's perfect!

Instead I finish the older projects, I keep starting new ones. This is why I'm posting WIP's today, and not FO's. I usually knit a part of one of them by day.

Some of them are closer to the end than others.

Tudora and Hot Chocolate are almost done.

For the Babette Blanket, I still have to crochet 23 more little squares to start the sewing part.

Roses in the Snow Shawl and the Red Pepper Jacket are half done, and half to do.

I just started Non-Silk Kerchief these days.

But the Log Cabin Rug I'm almost givin' up to keep on.

Probably I'll finish Tudora's first, because it's a little project. It's also possible to see it this week around here.

I got a terrible flu last week, and because it things move slowly around here. But now I'm getting better, I'll back keep posting more often.

My Corona Sweater

Demorou quase 1 mês, mas aí está, o meu Corona Sweater!!

Terminei ele na quinta-feira passada, mas somente hoje fotografei.

It took me almost a month, but I finally can show you my Corona Sweater!

I finished it last thursday, but just today I took the pictures.

É uma receita adorável, fácil e muito bem explicada.

Não tive problema algum para compreendê-la.

Fiz algumas modificações: Mangas mais longas e pouca barra nas mesmas.

Gostei muito porque é ajustado ao corpo, acinturado, pois não sou muito fã de coisas largonas. As tranças do degote são simplesmente espetaculares, sem falar no capuz, que dá um charme na peça.

It's an adorable pattern, easy and very well explained.

I had no problems to follow it.

But I modified a thing: I made long sleeves and shorter rib on that.

I loved this sweater because it's fitted, the cable pattern is very beautiful, and I really like hoodies, and this one is very charming!

Depois que terminei, a volta do degote e do capuz, onde são feitas as tranças, ficaram enrolando um pouco. Por isso, bloquei cuidadosamente usando o ferro à vapor. Coloquei uma camiseta entre o ferro e a peça, para evitar queimar o fio. Ficou bem retinho e o capuz aumentou incrivelmente de tamanho, mas eu gostei.

Patchwork Slippers

Já que meus trabalhos estão demorando para ficarem prontos, resolvi postar mais um pouco da arte da minha mãe: o Patchwork.

Acreditem ou não, estas pantufas foram feitas pelas mãos dela. Ficaram bem legais né? Eu achei simplesmente o máximo =D

Cortes de tecido feito à mão, costuras à máquina. Apenas mandamos colocar uma sola no sapateiro e... tharam!!!! Aí estão as pantufinhas feitas à mão!!

Ainda falta um botãozinho que vai bem no centro, pra enfeitar.

Estas serão presente para minha sogra, que fez aniversário ontem.

Não se preocupem, logo logo aparecerão por aqui os trabalhos em tricot.

Since my WIP's are not getting FO's too fast, today I decided to post something that my mom loves to do: Patchwork.

Believe you or not, these slippers were made by her hands. Cool, don't you think? I love it!

She cuts and sew the pieces of fabric, turning into this beautiful project. Just the rubber sole was made by a shoemaker.

She still have to sew a button on it, to decorate.

It is a gift to my mother-in-law, because of her birthday.

And don't worry, more knitting stuff will come very soon.

Projeto Misterioso

Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee gente!!!!!

Decepcionada... / Disappointed...

Tá bem, não é uma enorme decepção, mas... o suficiente pra me deixar chateada.

.

Eu tinha uma receita de um casaco legal favoritada no Ravelry. Um casaco pesadão, feito com agulha 8mm. Então eu precisava de um fio suficientemente grosso pra tricotar com essa agulha.

Pesquisei, pesquisei...

Fiquei entre 2 fios: Pingouin Marte e Pingouin Paratapet.

Acabei optando pelo Pingouin Marte por achar que o Paratapet não seria adequado para vestuário...

.

Bem feliz, comprei de cara 9 novelos de Pingouin Marte (detalhe: eu nunca tinha trabalhado com este fio), e comprei pela internet ainda, sem nunca tê-lo visto ou tocado nele... (é isso que a ansiedade faz com uma pessoa).

Quando o fio chegou, eu achei ele "meio estranho", mas resolvi não tirar conclusões precipitadas.

Comecei a tricotar. A cada ponto que eu faço, mais temerosa eu fico.

A cor é maravilhosa, certamente o casaco ficará bonito.

.

Qual o problema então??

.

O problema é que este é um fio supergrosso e sem torção. Ao olhar, parece ser um algodão doce.

E, por causa disso, a sensação que eu tenho é que quando eu usá-lo terei que ter o maior cuidado: não poderei me encostar em qualquer lugar, deverá ser lavado com o maior cuidado, máquina de lavar, jamais! Acho que até o cinto de segurança do carro pode fazer meu casaco embolotar!!!

Vou terminar o casaco, claro.

Só acho que ele não vai durar bonitinho por muito tempo.

Ai gente, que ódio de mim....

Ok, that's not a huge disappointment, but enough to let me go mad.

I had a cool jacket pattern on my Ravelry Favorites, that requires 8mm needles. So, I search a compatible yarn here in Brazil to knit it.

After that, I was between two yarns: Pingouin Marte and Pingouin Paratapet.

I ended up choosing Pingouin Marte.

.

Very happy, I opened a page on the internet and bought 9 skeins of Pingouin Marte (and I never knitted with this yarn before)...

When it arrived, the yarn seemed stranged to me, but I decided to test before saying something.

I started knitting whit it. And more I knit, more fearful I feel.

The color is lovely, for sure it will be a beautiful jacket.

.

So, where is the problem???

.

The problem is this is one of that yarns that you cannot pull in anything, because it can mess it all.

My feeling is that when I wear it, I'll have to take care about evey wall, chair, table, when I move around. I think that even the car safety belt can ruin my jacket!!!

.

I'm going to finish it, and wear it, of course...

I just don't know how long it will last in good condition.

.

I so hate myself...

I feel sorry for not have choosen the Pingouin Paratapet yarn instead this one!!!!

A loucura começou no momento em que eu decidi que, este ano, eu iria tricotar todos os meus blusões e casacos, invés de comprá-los. Muito bem, fui feliz da vida conferir o estoque e... quem diz que eu tenho + de 2 novelos da mesma cor?? hahahahaha

Pra completar, o bazar horizonte fez uma promoção este mês, frete grátis, etc... aí me esbaldei!!!Comprei Amarelo, Roxo, Lilás, Bege, Vermelho, Verde...

Pensando por um lado, estes novelos me renderiam várias peças de roupas, lindérrimas, e sairiam muito mais barato pro meu bolso do que comprar tudo em uma loja. Por outro lado, porque nós tricoteiras vivemos na ilusão de que sempre conseguiremos tricotar TUDO que nos vêm à cabeça???

Bom... mas agora eu já comprei, é meu. Vamos ver o que faço com eles. hauhauhauhauha

Os maiores (que são os mais demorados) estão quase prontos. Depois vai faltar apenas os pequenos, os quais eu já fiz alguns para aproveitar os restinhos dos novelos.

Fiz também uma compra astronômica no site do Bazar Horizonte, para aproveitar a promoção de frete grátis este mês... Um total de 34 novelos, divididos entre: Pingouin Marte, Pingouin Safira e Pingouin Desejo. Já saiu de lá o pacotão, mas ainda não chegou.

I'm still crochetting the squares...

The bigger ones (that takes more time) are almost done. And after it, I'll have to finish the little ones, that I already made some to use the leftovers.

At the same time, I have some other projects in progress: Corona Sweater, Log Cabin Rug, Gail Shawl, Rose Red Beret. But I confess that I put Babette as my priority project this moment.

I also made an astronomical yarns purchase, because a Brazilian yarn shop is giving free shipping this month... so I bought a total of 34 skeins, divide in: Pingouin Marte, Pingouin Safira and Pingouin Desejo. It didn't arrive yet.
