Como todos aqui já devem estar careca de saber, minha mãe é tão apaixonada por patchwork quanto eu pelo tricot. Acho que posso dizer que este porta agulhas uniu as 2 artes. Mas vou começar essa história pelo início.

Ahhhhhh!!! My little lambs!

Everyone that came here once already know that my mom loves patchwork as I love knitting. I think I can say that this Needle Case unite both crafts. But I'll start this story at the beggining.

Há muitos anos eu tricoto, mas há dois anos atrás (mais ou menos) que eu comecei a me interessar pelo que eu ainda não sabia no tricot. Ou seja, antes disso, eu devia ter uns 3 pares de agulhas retas, alguma agulha circular e uns poucos novelos. Aí, quando comecei a fuçar na internet, descobrir blogs de tricot, etc, essa curiosidade aumentou, assim como o meu conhecimento no assunto e, como não poderia ser diferente, aumentou também a quantidade de material para tricotar.

Eu guardava minhas agulhas num cantinho do armário e, de repente, notei que eu precisava desesperadamente de um porta agulhas.

Sem problemas! Tem tantos por aí para vender né? Até tem. Mas nenhum que coubesse TODAS as minhas agulhas retas juntas. Todos os porta agulhas que eu encontrava eram muito pequenos. e o único maiorzinho que eu encontrei, achei feio demais...

I knit many years but two years ago (more or less) I started to be interessed about what I didn't know about knitting. Before that, I should have three pairs of straight needles, one or two circular needles and some skeins. But, with my curiosity, not just my knowledge improved, but the number or materials for knitting that I had also increased.

I used to kept my needles on my closet, but one day I realized that I desperately needed a needles case.
No problem! There are so many ones that you can buy on stores! but none that had enough space for ALL my straight needles. I even found one that was big, but it was so ugly...

Parti então para outra idéia: fazer meu próprio porta agulhas.

Pensei primeiro em fazer ele de tricot. Depois, pensando melhor, resolvi pedir à minha mãe que o fizesse pra mim, em patchwork.

Foram semanas até decidir exatamente como ele seria.

Eu dava a idéia, minha mãe levava isso para a aula de patchwork dela, para que, junto da professora, pudessem colocar em prática.

A coisa tornou-se difícil quando não achávamos em nenhum livro de patchwork qualquer coisa parecida com o que eu queria.

Então radicalizei!

Depois de decidido o tamanho do porta agulhas, eu peguei uma folha de papel de tamanho igual à volta toda da peça e fiz o desenho à mão livre. O morro, as ovelhas, as nuvens. As flores foram idéia da minha mãe.

So, I got another idea: to do my own needles case.

First I thought about knitting one, but after I decided to ask my mom for one in patchwork.

Weeks passed 'till I decide exactly how it would be.

I had the idea and my mom took it to her patchwork teatcher, so them could find a way for doing it.

Things got really bad when we didn't find anything near of what I realized on books.

So I radicalized!

After I decided the size I wanted, I draw in a paper the hill, the sheep, the clouds. The flowers were mom's idea.

Já que desenhei figuras bem simples, os moldes puderam ser tirados facilmente para recorte e quiltagem.

Esse é um trabalho personalizadérrimo (hahaha), criação da minha mente maluca, execução pelas mãos de minha mãe, com uma ajuda técnica da professora de Patchwork dela.

No fim, decidimos fazer uma ovelhinha de feltro, pra colocar na ponta do fecho. Não ficou uma graça???

Since I drew simple pictures, the molds could be taken easily to tranfer it to pieces of fabric, for cutting and quilt.

This is a very personalized work, created by my crazy mind, and made by my mom with a little help of her patchwork teatcher.

In the end, we decided to do a little sheep made with felt, to put on the zipper. That looks great, doesn't it?

Changing Patterns, Same Yarn.

Lembram quando ganhei ESTA lã da Monika? E lembram que comecei a fazer ESTE xale com ela? Pois é... isto foi em abril deste ano.

Aí eu tricotei metade do Gail e parei por causa de outros projetos...

Dia desses, resolvi pegar no xale de novo e... quem disse que eu me achei?

Não anotei a carreira que parei, contei e recontei os pontos, perdi mais de hora tentando achar qual carreira eu devia tricotar para dar seguimento, mas... não teve jeito.

Me enfureci e desmanchei tudinho.

Aí, me deu um desânimo de começar o Gail tudo de novo...

Então fui para o Ravelry, e, depois de olhar e analisar inúmeras receitas, decidi que ia fazer um Swallowtail Shawl.

Estou a ponto de iniciar a "Lily of the Valley Border", logo logo estará pronto.

E, quer saber?

Estou achando que este fio caiu melhor nessa receita do que no Gail que estava fazendo antes =)

Do you remember when Monika send me THIS handspun yarn? And do you remember that I started knitting THIS shawl with it? So... that happened last April.

I've knitted half of Gail Shawl, and stopped because another projects.

These days, I decided to finish it, but... who knows which row I stopped??

I didn't make a note about where I stopped in the pattern. I counted and recounted the stitches, but I couldn't find which row was next.

I got really angry because of it, so I ripped back it all, and I made a big yarn ball again.

Start Gail again seemed so boring to me...

So I oppened the Ravelry page on my computer, and after a little searching, I decided to knit a Swallowtail Shawl.

I'm going to start the "Lily of the Valley Border" now, and it will be finished very soon.

And, you know what?

I think this yarn fits better with this pattern than the first one. =)

Non-Silk Kerchief

Aproveitando que a chuva aqui deu uma trégua, consegui tirar as fotos do meu "Non-Silk Kerchief".

Como sugere a receita, usei 1 fio liso e 1 fio matizado para compor a peça, mas não usei o fio indicado (Noro Silk Garden Sock).

Não há dúvidas de que com Noro ficaria melhor... mas como aqui no Brasil é muito difícil de achar (leia-se muito caro), optei por fios naconais mesmo.

The Pattern suggests Noro Silk Garden Sock, one solid color and one nuanced. I didn't used Noro because it's very rare to find it in Brazil, and when you find is very expensive. It's cheaper to buy it in an international online store.

That's no doubt that if I had used Noro, it would be better, but, I ended choosing 2 nacional yarns for it.

É uma receita extremamente fácil, mas confesso que fiquei enjoada de tricotar cordões de tricot. As receitas que parecem mais difíceis por terem muitos pontos variados me prendem mais atenção do que as fáceis.

Tenho que admitir, talvez isso aconteça por eu não ser uma pessoa que se acostumaria com mesmice. Daí o porque me entendio em fazer coisas repetidas e/ou quase mecânicas.

Mesmo assim, adorei o efeito que a combinação de fios provoca.

Ao final, depois da blocagem, o xale ficou com 122cm de largura por 61cm altura.

The pattern is extremely easy, but I confess that working in garter stitch bored me.

That patterns that looks difficult because they have cables and lace interest me more than the easy ones, because the simple never change.

I have to admit, maybe it happens because I'm not a person that likes the sameness. That's why I get bored when I have to repeat sth so many times.

But I loved how the combination of these two yarns turned out!

Size after blocking: 122cm wide and 61cm lenght.

Durante todo o mês de Agosto e esse início de Setembro, acho que mais de 75% do tempo foi assim... chuvoso, ou no mínimo, nublado.

Coisa mais chata.

Tenho um projeto terminado há uma semana esperando para ser fotografado mas... cadê o sol??

Essa última chuva começou segunda feira. E até hoje não parou! =(

Just can't stand seeing this weather anymore. Everything wet.

Throughout August and this beggining of September, I think that more than 75% of the days was raining or cloudy.

That's boring.

I have one finished project for a week, just waiting to be photographed, but... were's the sun??

Antes mesmo da minha revista Phildar chegar, eu já estava louca por este sweater. Na verdade, essa receita foi uma das motivações para a compra dessa revista.

Adoro blusas assim, mais soltinhas.

I was crazy about this project, even before my Phildar magazine got here. In fact, this pattern were the one that motivated me to buy this magazine.

Como não poderia ser diferente, eu modifiquei algumas coisinhas...

Não tricotei o corpo com agulha 6mm, mas sim com 5mm... Isso porque o fio que escolhi para trabalhar não tinha espessura suficiente para uma agulha tão grossa.

Outra coisa é que na receita manda fazer a gola separada e depois costurar na peça... como eu sou preguiçosa (e vocês já sabem disso), eu levantei os pontos e trabalhei a gola numa circular. Costurar pra que??? Eu acho que assim o acabamento fica melhor...

Depois, bloquei com ferro à vapor =)

I modified some things...

I didn't used 6mm needles to knit the body, but 5mm. That's because the yarn I chosen for this work.

The pattern also says to knit the neck and sew it to the body. But... because I'm lazy (and you already know that), I picked up the stitches and worked the collar on a circular needle. Why sew??? I think that picking up the stitches it's better.

After all, I ironed it.

Meu parecer:

Eu simplesmente AMEI essa peça. É um pouco chato de tricotar porque é sempre em ponto meia, mas eu gostei muito do resultado final.

Como falei no outro post, eu adoro amarelo. Na verdade, não só o amarelo, mas tudo que é cor forte e berrante. hahaha

Tirei as fotos com uma blusa preta por baixo, mas estou atrás de uma cinza mesclada, acho que vai ficar melhor o contraste =)

My considerations:

I just LOVE it. It's a little boring to knit in st st, but I really liked the final result.

Like I said before, I love the yellow color. In fact, not just the yellow, but all strong colors.

I took the pictures using a black shirt under it, but I think that a gray one could contrast better =)

Vocês não imaginam a minha felicidade!!

Pois é, hoje fui na loja de fábrica da Pingouin (é, aquela mesma, que fica aqui pertinho de mim, aquela maravilha! hahaha) e para minha surpresa... tava cheio de fio Noblesse!!!!

Morram de inveja!! (brincadeirinha... hahaha)

Pra quem não sabe, este fio já saiu de linha. E eu lamentei muito, pois amava o fio. Nas lojas, ao menos por aqui, já não se achava mais dele. Não tinha me ocorrido que talvez na fábrica tivesse, nem tinha ido lá pra comprar isso, mas aí...

Fio Noblesse, numa promoção de R$4,25 o novelo... não dá pra perder né... hauhauhauah

Comprei 3 novelos no azul marinho, 2 novelos desse verde maravilhoso, 4 novelos marrom e 5 novelos cinza. Não me preguntem o que farei com eles, ainda não sei!! Mas adianto que o verde me veio à cabeça num belo xale =)

Hi people!!

You just can't imagine how happy I am!

Today I went to a Fabric Yarn Shop (yes, the fabric that produce the Pingouin Yarns here, in Brazil, is near my house, and they have a shop there.. hahaha), and for my surprise, I found Pingouin Noblesse there!

.

Pingouin Noblesse were discontinued, I loved this yarn. But they had a stash on the fabric. Of course I had to buy a lot of it! And I got a discount, because the yarn is discontinued.

.

I bought: 3 dark blue skeins, 2 green skeins, 4 brown skeins and 5 gray ones. Don't know yet what I'm going to knit with them, but the green ones maybe turn out in a shawl.

Something Yellow...

Algumas pessoas não gostam dessa cor. Mas eu adoro!

Há tempos eu tinha comprado esses novelos amarelos para fazer uma blusa pra mim, mas não achava uma receita que eu achasse que ia ficar bem com a cor.

Caso resolvido com uma das minhas novas revistas Phildar.

Amei o modelo assim que vi e comecei o projeto no mesmo dia... e já está quase pronto!

Some people don't like this color. But I do!

A time ago I had bought this yellow yarn for a sweater, but I didn't find a cool pattern for it.

That's was solved when my Phildar Magazine got here.

I loved that model at the time I saw it, so I started the project at that day... and it's almost done!

I just have to finish the second sleeve and then sew pieces together =)

Creamy Cabled Bolero

Este bolero foi a primeira peça que tricotei da revista Montricot, Edição de Luxo.

Não foi difícil tricotá-la, mas já aviso que a receita tem alguns erros, portanto adaptei algumas coisas...

This bolero is the first pattern I've knitted from the Montricot Magazine, Luxury Edition.

That's not a difficult knitting, but I have to warn you, this pattern has some mistakes, so I had tho adapt it.
.

Alguns problemas que encontrei:

.

Primeiro, na receita, manda tricotar os 12 pontos da trança conforme o gráfico. Acontece que o gráfico da trança só tem 10 pontos. Contando os pontos da agulha, percebi que a trança precisava mesmo ter 12 pontos. Então eu mudei o tamanho da trança.

.

Esse bolero é feito em uma só peça, começando em um punho e terminando no outro... Como eu gosto de fazer as coisas bem certinhas, anotei carreira por carreira em um papel, apontando onde fiz os aumentos da 1° manga, e então, espelhei essas informações para fazer a segunda manga, que são explicadas de maneira diferente do que na primeira manga (???)

.

Na hora de pegar os pontos com a circular, manda levantar um total de 320 pontos em toda a volta da abertura... Eu levanto 1 ponto onde há 1 alça. No meu trabalho levantei 314 pontos que eram os espaços que tinham, e não 320.

.

E por fim, a receita manda fazer essa barra 2 x 2 por 17cm, e eu fiz por 15cm... porque ia ficar enorme, como de fato ficou. É praticamente um casaco e não um bolero...

.

Some mistakes I found:

.

First, the pattern says to follow the chart for the 12 cable stitches. But the cable chart has only 10 stitches. Counting the stitches I realized that the cable part needed the 12 stitches. So I made a larger cable.

.

This bolero is made in one piece, starting in one sleeve and ending on another. I noted on a paper all the rows I made for the first sleeve, marking the increases, and after I just reverse for the second one, because the patterd explains the second sleeve in a different manner than the first (???)

.

Using a circular needle, the pattern says to pick up 320 stitches around, but on my bolero, I just got 314, because there were not more space for stitches.

.

And, just to finish, the pattern says to knit 17cm on 2 x 2 rib around, but I've knitted just 15cm, because that was too big. It's almost a cardigan...

.

.

Algumas coisas a considerar:

Se eu fosse fazer esta receita outra vez, faria as mangas mais justas. Elas ficaram enormes em mim, de maneira que cabem meus dois braços em uma só manga!! Usaria também uma agulha menor, para que o bolero todo não ficasse tão grande.

O bolero original não tem esse i-cord para fechar, é usado aberto. Mas como a peça ficou grande em mim, coloquei os i-cord para poder fechá-lo e ajustá-lo melhor ao meu corpo, pois aberto ficou muito grande pra mim.

Bem, eu tinha escolhido fazer esta peça para usar com um vestido que eu tenho, mas infelizmente não caiu bem. Nem tudo é perfeito... e agora, digo com toda sinceridade que não sei se chegarei a usá-lo um dia. Confesso que o resultado final não me agradou muito, justamente por as mangas terem ficado largas...

Some considerations:

If I knit this again, I would made the sleeves fairer. That is too big that I can put my both arms inside one sleeve!!! I think I would use a thinner needle too.

The original pattern doesn't have the i-cord, the bolero is used open. I added it because the body were also oversized to me... So I did it trying to adjust the body.

.

I had chosen to knit this bolero to use with a dress, but, after I try it, I realized that the bolero and dress didn't look well together. Not everything perfect... And now I tell you, with all my sincerity, that I don't know if I'm going to wear it one day. I confess that it didn't turned out like I wanted, because this big sleeves.

Phildar Magazines

Estou eufórica!!!

No início do mês, comprei estas 2 revistas de tricot pelo site da Phildar. Ontem elas chegaram, finalmente! Também, eu já não me aguentava mais de ansiedade!!!

.

Cada uma das revistas tem mais de 30 receitas. Uma mais linda que a outra, pouquíssimos foram os modelos que não me agradaram.

Como estas revistas são de temporadas passadas, saiu bem baratinho... as duas revistas e o frete saiu pela bagatela de 14,50 euros! (mais ou menos 38 reais).

Pra ter mais de 60 receitas maravilhosas, é barato demais.

Antes das revistas chegarem, eu já tinha escolhido a primeira receita a ser tricotada. Pois assim que elas chegaram, já comecei a trabalhar!!!

I'm very exciting!!!

At the beggining of this month, I bought these two kniting magazines on Phildar's Web Page. Yesterday they finally arrived!!! I was very anxious about it!

.

Each magazine has over than 30 patterns. I loved the most of them, just a few ones I didn't like.

Because this magazines are not new ones, I payed a very cheap price for them. These two magazines plus the delivery, costs me just 14,50 EUR.

Very cheap for over than 60 wonderful patterns!!

.

But, before they arrived, I just had chosen the first project to knit, and, at the time they got here, I casted on.

- Fio um pouco mais grosso do que o recomendado para este tamanho de agulha (Eu usei o fio Sublime da Pingouin).

- Agulha para trança

- 1 botão grande

Abreviações:

m = meia

t = tricot

C4B = passar 2 pontos para a agulha de trança e segurá-los atrás do trabalho. Tricotar os próximos 2 pontos e depois tricotar os 2 pontos da agulha de trança.

1 psfm = passar o ponto sem fazer em meia

1 psft = passar 1 ponto sem fazer em tricot

2pjm = 2 pontos juntos em meia

Receita:

Montar 112 pontos na agulha.

Carr. 1 - 1psfm, 3m, 2t, *4m, 2t*. Repetir de * a * até os últimos 4 pontos, 4m.

Carr. 2 - 1psft, 3t, 2m, *4t, 2m*. Repetir de * a * até os últimos 4 pontos, 4t.

Carr. 3 - 1psfm, 3m, 2t, *C4B, 2t, 4m, 2t*. Repetir de * a * até os últimos 10 pontos, C4B, 2t, 4m.

Carr. 4 - igual a carr. 2.

Repetir estas 4 carreiras até o trabalho atingir 9,5cm do início, terminando na carreira 4.

Parte superior:

Deste ponto em diante, você tricotará somente as 2 primeiras carreiras desta receita, formando uma gaita 4 x 2 pontos.

Carr. 1 - rematar 12 pontos, trabalhar na receita até o fim. (100 pts na agulha)

Carr. 2 (e todas as carreiras pares) - trabalhar na receita até o final, deixando o último ponto sem fazer.

Carr. 3 e 5 - Trabalhar igual a carr. 1 (76 pontos na agulha qdo completar a carr. 5)

Com a frente do trabalho virada para você, levante 15 pontos na lateral menor do trabalho.

Carr. 1 até 6 - meia

Carr. 7 - 6m, rematar 3 pontos, 6m

Carr. 8 - 6m, montar 3 pontos na agulha, 6m.

Carr. 9 até 11 - meia

Carr. 12 - 11m, (2pjm) 2x

Carr. 13 - meia

Carr. 14 - 9m, (2pjm) 2x

Carr. 15 - rematar os 11 pontos restantes.

Vista no pescoço para definir o lugar do botão. Costure o botão e está pronto.

Well, since I posted my Tudora here, many brazilian knitters asked me for a portuguese translation, because they don't understand english.

Because of it, I contacted Cheryl Marling, the Tudora's Designer, asking for permission to post here the translation of her pattern. She said YES, so, I posted the translation.

Colourful Bag

Não sei vocês, mas eu adoro bolsas e adoro cor. Misturar os dois então, perfeito!

Eu tinha várias bolas de Pingouin Bella, todas pela metade e uma de cada cor...

Estava cansada de fazer paninhos de pia, pra dizer bem a verdade. Queria projetos mais desafiadores.

E como eu sou iniciante no crochet, fiquei super empolgada quando achei a receita desta bolsa.

I don't know what you think, but I love bags and I love colors. Mixed both, just perfect!

I had some half skeis of Pingouin Bella, in several colors...

I was tired of knitting dishcloths with that. To tell you the truth, I wanted challenge projects.

And, as you know, I'm a begginer about crochet and I got very excited when I found this bag pattern.

É uma receita muito simples. Basicamente se faz um círculo chato no tamanho desejado para o fundo da bolsa e depois é só parar de dar os aumentos... aí sobe o quanto você quiser. Fiz o fundo da minha com 12 voltas... ficou enorme!

That's a very simple pattern... You start doing a circle, and whet it gets to the size you want for the bottom, you just stop increasing. I made a 12 round botton for my bag. It turns huge!!

As florzinhas ajudam a esconder a costura das alças, e também deixam a bolsa mais bonitinha =)

Fiz estas sozinha, por tentativa mesmo. Não são as mesmas flores da receita.

This flowers helps to hide the handles sewing. I made this ones by myself, just trying. That's not the same flowers of the pattern.

Não consegui costurar um forro nela. Como fiz com fio duplo, ficou grossa demais e a máquina de costura simplesmente não passou... rsrsrs...

Eu sei que tem como costurar à mão mas... confesso ser preguiçosa demais pra isso!

My bag has no lining. I crocheted it with yarn held double, so it was too thick for the sewing machine.

I know I could sew it using my own hands, but... I confess I'm too lazy for that.

Hoje o blog está de aniversário!

Há exatamente 1 ano atrás, eu fazia o 1° post do Sweet Tricot.

Como o tempo passa!!!

De lá pra cá, foram 149 posts (sem contar este aqui!), 1.137 comentários e mais de 82.300 visitas!! Isso sem contar as 105 pessoas que se tornaram seguidoras do blog.

Quando criei o Sweet Tricot, jamais imaginei que chegaria a estes números. Nunca me passou pela cabeça que o tricot movimentava tanta gente na internet! Que haviam tantas pessoas interessadas em conhecer, aprender e a trocar idéias sobre esta técnica.

.

Queria agradecer a todos que por aqui passam, que por aqui comentam, que seguem o blog, e que, de uma maneira ou outra, me passam este imenso carinho.

When I created this blog, I never thought that I would get to those numbers. I never thought that there were so many people interesting about knitting and crochetting on the internet.

I wanna thank you all, for coming here, for comment here, for following this blog, and, in one way or another, brings me this immense affection.
